Unofficial Meeting Notes

June 2026

Our June 2026 LGA meeting was held on Sunday June 14th.  We had about 28 people in attendance.   The meeting started off with a visit from our favorite Dog Control Officer - Nancy Cody.  Nancy has been working hard around the community trying to address all the concerns with dogs.  She has handed out a whole ton of citations to pet owners who are not following the laws and/or have dogs that are menacing people around the lake.

Please remember:  All dogs must be on a leash, they cannot be running at large off your property.

If you have any issues with any dogs in the community please contact Nancy directly, you can find her phone number listed on our website.  Take photos and document each incident.  It is important that you report these issues so they can be documented and addressed appropriately.

Marc gave our treasurer’s report, we spent a bunch of money.  I won’t list those numbers here, so you can find them in our meeting minutes.

Marc also gave the Lake Steward report -  a playground was donated and has been rebuilt near the pavilion to give kids something to play on when at the pavilion.

There are several surveys underway around the lake to reclaim association property from encroachment and illegal removal of survey markers.  We will be kept up to date on these projects.

The Pine Road Pavilion Dock needs repairs.  We will be looking into options to address this.

Muck pellets have been purchased and a group of volunteers was formed to spread them around the lake.  These pellets are the multi-season pellets that will allow us to treat the lake Spring, Summer and Fall.   (unlike previous pellets that only worked in the summer).

Pauline gave the president's report, there are several issues that she is working on.

When the Lake Gerry Community was formed, each road emanating from the lake has a corresponding access lane to the lake.  These access lanes converge into the center of Lake Gerry (like a pie).  These access lanes are what allow other members around the lake to easily access the lake.

We continue to have lane encroachment, fencing placed, people moving survey pins and individuals storing stuff in the access lanes.  These lanes are private Lake Gerry property, and must be kept clear.  There are some enforcement actions being taken to assure members can use these lanes.

Tempers and moods of certain individuals around the lake have been becoming an issue.  There has been a lot of harassment, theft and just people being terrible to each other.  If at any time you feel unsafe or have a serious concern, it is vital that you contact the police.  Contact information can be found on our website.  The more individuals that call and report issues, the more attention we will get and the higher the likelihood something will actually be done to fix the situation.

On a positive note, we voted to start a fundraising campaign to raise money for a mechanical lilypad cutting machine.  This will be a several year process, unless we have some large donations.  The plan is to raise money and then decide which machine to purchase once the funds have been raised.   I will be putting up a donation page on the website that will help us raise money and keep track of these funds.

We set the dates for the following events:

Ice Cream Social – Friday August 7th - 6:00pm at the pavilion

Pancake Breakfast - Saturday August 8th

Community Picnic and Auction - September 5th.

Lastly, this year is an election year for the LGA offices.  If you have any ideas or interest in running as an officer, please reach out.
